Colin Telfer

Born in 1947, Colin started his rugby with Royal High School, and was in the Scottish Schools side which beat English Schools 57-0.

He played for the Trades and later for Hawick, travelling from Edinburgh to train and play.   His first cap came in 1968 against the touring Australians.  Despite fine performances he missed two seasons of international rugby - mainly through imjury - but returned in 1972 to play a major part in Scotland's win over France that season, and continued as a prominent member of the Scotland team in the first half of the 1970s.

A superb tactician, Colin was a great favourite at Mansfield Park, and after his retirement from playing continued to serve rugby as a coach both at Mansfield and with the Scottish international team.
